Medea. A performance that wrestles with the core of ancient tragedy, its timeless intensity, and its timely irony. The performance maintains the classic axis of the text, allowing the undercurrents of a powerful memory to pierce through the action. The story seems to unfold through whatever Medea herself recalls, like images that persistently return: love, flight, children, betrayal.
The work remains shockingly relevant. It speaks of betrayal, exile, dignity, and the breaking point where a human being is crushed between love and social class. The performance does not treat Medea as a “monster”, but as a conscious human existence reaching the ultimate limit.
