Biography of Kostas Gourtzis

He was born and raised in Kavala. In recent years, he has been living and working in Thessaloniki. He studied painting at the Department of Visual & Applied Arts of Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and at the Master’s Program in Visual Arts of the Athens School of Fine Arts.

He is a doctoral candidate at the Athens School of Fine Arts.

His creative process includes multimedia projects, video installations, and paintings. Notes in the form of drawings, paintings, moving images, sound, and text make up an experimental narrative.

He regularly exhibits his work at themed exhibitions and festivals in Greece and abroad. He has taught painting at the Department of Visual & Applied Arts at Aristotle University of Thessaloniki.
