One of the great tragedian’s most profoundly human works comes to life in the acclaimed director’s first production at Epidaurus, presented in its most lyrical and collective dimension. A poetic and deeply political inclusive stage production at the Ancient Theatre of Epidaurus, which for the first time in its history is made accessible to people with sensory —visual and hearing— disabilities. A unique stage interpretation of the horror and absurdity of war, seen through the lens of the female body as it reclaims the right to choose, even under occupation. Will the oppressed women of this world ever be able to regain the right to choose? To scream their anger and hatred, to mourn, to laugh amidst the chaos and dead ends? Will the women of Troy ever re-appropriate their own bodies? An ensemble of 22 performers —including members of the “En Dynamei” collective— of different ages, with and without disabilities, along with live music on stage, presents a stage narrative centered on musicality through the coexistence of different bodies, voices, and experiences.
